The first thing this reminded me of was the decorative skull designs commonly associated with the Mexican Day of the Dead. However, instead of the softer designs and organic motifs evenly spaced apart, this skull is emblazoned with obscene, techicolour designs that spill out everywhere and into the surrounding space, like 80s synth pop tripping on Woodstock grade acid.
The construction is amazing and simply boggling. It's actually hard to get a handle on it and offer a useful, descriptive critique. One thing I did notice is that you have three wavy strips running from top-to-bottom on the skull and out into the surrounding area. That's a very good way to unify the piece visually and not make it seem as though the skull merely sits on top of the other designs. But this actually plays with the viewers' sense of space and effectively makes it even more psychedelic.
